What a fun project this was! I got to put the laser to use with some new logos, shaped up a East Coast Lumberjack handle into an octagonal grip, and left a smidgen of the knob so it could be used both as a thrower, and a fireside splitter, but the bit is def leaning towards a little workhorse than a thrower. Vintage head was a rusty True-Set 1.5 that needed some love, and it got it. fresh bit shaping and cleaned up the mushrooming and kinks and dings on the outer edges. This finished up nicely and is smooth all around (except the obvious part) and still got to keep some patina. This hatchet also has a clean well made VIRTUS LEATHER sheath, hand made in Canada. The owner does very nice work and I highly suggest if you want a custom sheath, to contact him. He also does loops so you can have your axe at your side :)
Amanda Lynn Mayhew of JUST HUNT came by personally to not only obtain the axe, but also have a few throws at the target. We talked, we threw, we debated drinking a few Full Beard beers, but alas, driving was ahead of all of us. ( I just drank some later hahah) The new OOPS BERRY is Fanfreakintastic and I HIGHLY recommend you give it a try if you can!
